Awards
A Paul Harris Saphire Pin was deservedly awarded to Des Friedrich for his outstanding service to the club particularly as treasurer, for his tireless efforts leading the Forest of Peace and Remembrance Network Project and for taking on the Chairman of The Trust role.
Special Presidents Award
Awarded to the person who's been most helpful to The President for the year
(This is a new award initiated by Sally )
Awarded to Wally Garrett for being always available to take on tasks assist the running of the club and for his activities in the wider community as President for Greypower and involvent with the Amputees Society.
District Governor Marilyn Stevens
Marilyn mentioned how delighted she was that our club was the first of her official visits in The District.
Marilyn spoke about the New World Rotary President Jennifer Jones for 2022/23. the first woman to hold that office and how keen she was to use her theme: Imagine to help transform the world, and harness imagination to:
Engage members (comfort and care)
Retain members
Gain members to reflect the diversity of our communities
Surveying members needs
New Club types
Project based membership
COVID adaption
Help communities manage post COVID
Ukranian needs and Peace
Environmental emphasis
Is Rotary still relevant

Marilyn mentioned that in September we will be voting on whether to go ahead with a Pilot Scheme looking at Regionalisation and Redistricting.
She congratulated Sally and the team for the impressive evening organised and thanked The Club for inviting her and husband Wayne.
Changeover to New President Jan Dempsey 2022/23
Jan had only just returned from Canada and a bit jet lagged naturally.
She was hoping some family members could join her but unfortunately unable to. She was well supported by friends on the night.
She was looking forward to working with all members, growing the club and the challenges ahead.
