Stephen regailed us with a story about a truant mouse discovered in their home (laundry) during the Level 4 lockdown. They unfortunately didn't have any mousetraps.
When they could get them they set 4 , cheese was taken but no mouse!!

Searching the Internet for possible solutions suggested peanut oil in a stainless steel bowl!!!

They got 4 more traps and 2 rat traps. No result overnight.

It was seen the next day going under the stove but no success in trying to cook it.

Eventually Tracy managed to trap it under a bucket. Stephen then grabbed it and after a few blows able to dispose it in the rubbish bin!

A few days later they found in their letter box  a note from their neighbours asking if their pet mouse had been spotted!  They haven't had the heart to own up!

         Message from President Sally

Greetings in Rotary

Thank you to all those who attended our AGM on Monday night.  Usually it is a sure thing that if you don’t attend an AGM you get a job, but in Rotary these are always set well before the AGM so no surprises.

A board went around with lists for helpers for various events.  I will get Murray to include it with your bulletin.

  • Food Bank, we are helping with sorting.
  • Cancer Society we are wrapping Christmas gifts. Please indicate days and times you can help.  We need everyone to help with this.
  • RLI I will get Murray to attach the programme for this.  As many as possible.
  • Golf: 13th November.  This is our big fundraiser for the year, actually our only one, so all hands on deck.

Please remember to email Stephen with your Rotary volunteer hours.  Some are sending weekly, some monthly, but please send them.  If you can, detail out hours for meetings and other hours.  This is one of our goals this year for a special focus. Service to our community.

REMEMBER NO MEETING NEXT MONDAY BECAUSE OF LABOUR WEEKEND.  I know some may have thought last weekend was Labour weekend but no it is this coming weekend.

Yours in Rotary

Sally Morch

President
